Buckeye Australian Cattle Dog Rescue was founded in 2017 by a group of volunteers with many years in the fields of rescue, veterinary medicine and working in the pet supply industry. Cattle Dogs are our passion! Our mission is to save cattle dogs from shelters in and around Ohio. We will consider owner surrenders also, as space allows. All of our dogs are in foster homes and live with our families and our own pets. All dogs will be fully vetted before placement, including spay or neuter, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases, vaccinated and microchipped, as well as receiving socialization and basic obedience skills. Dogs will be evaluated for several weeks in our foster homes so that we know their temperament and their needs before placing them in their forever homes.
Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, micrchip, full vaccines and heartworm/tick disease testing.
We do not have an application on our website - if you are interested in applying for a particular dog or even just applying to get pre-approved for future dogs, please email us at and we will email you an application. We do veterinary reference checks as well as personal references checks and home visits on all potential applicants. Please do not ask to meet a dog before requesting an application, as we will not do so. Once an application is received and we have determined it is a potential match for a particular dog, we do the references and then arrange a meeting after a $50 refundable deposit is received.
We are looking for quality foster homes in Ohio. If you have room in your heart and home (and hopefully some ACD or herding breed experience), we would love to talk to you about becoming a foster home. All medical and other expenses will be provided by BACDRA.
